Summary

What would happen if a top expert with more than thirty years of leadership experience were willing to distill everything he had learned about leadership into a handful of life-changing principles just for you? It would change your life。

John C。 Maxwell has done exactly that in The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership。 He has combined insights learned from his thirty-plus years of leadership successes and mistakes with observations from the worlds of business, politics, sports, religion, and military conflict。 The result is a revealing study of leadership delivered as only a communicator like Maxwell can。

21 Leyes que te ayudarán a crecer como líder y a expandir tus habilidades。 Incluye un auto análisis muy interesante。

very concise and easy to read through the laws/examples; funny how some laws put into words practices that i’ve personally adopted; seems like it’s catered towards organizations (even tho i’m thinking in terms of school clubs/orgs rn) but good to be a better leader anywhere; also had helpful self-reflection questions and methods to put the laws into practice !! would recommend everyone to read !!

Full of anecdotes and maxims, many of which are interesting, but nearly all of which are outdated。 In a world where we have top-tier university professors collecting data and stories to show what really works in leadership, there are better books to read on leadership than this collection of one man's experiences。 Light and quick to read, but I won't be picking it up again。 Full of anecdotes and maxims, many of which are interesting, but nearly all of which are outdated。 In a world where we have top-tier university professors collecting data and stories to show what really works in leadership, there are better books to read on leadership than this collection of one man's experiences。 Light and quick to read, but I won't be picking it up again。 。。。more

Pausing to return - we were reading this as a management team at work but decided to work through another book at the moment that might help us with our current COVID-recovery stage a little better。

Amazing way to split and explain skills a leader should invest。 The way its narrated helps in the journey to understand the laws and there are a lot of good examples as well!

I usually steer clear of books about leadership because (i) they feel too much like work, (ii) they are too generic, (iii) I find it difficult to connect to them。 I however, really liked the flow of the 21 irrefutable laws。 They also echoed things I myself believe in, and teachings I have come across in other leadership books I have found valuable。 The fundamental lesson I take away is that small things make a big difference。 And Mr Maxwell is right (and I am largely paraphrasing here) - the one I usually steer clear of books about leadership because (i) they feel too much like work, (ii) they are too generic, (iii) I find it difficult to connect to them。 I however, really liked the flow of the 21 irrefutable laws。 They also echoed things I myself believe in, and teachings I have come across in other leadership books I have found valuable。 The fundamental lesson I take away is that small things make a big difference。 And Mr Maxwell is right (and I am largely paraphrasing here) - the one thing to know about leadership is that there is more than one thing to know about leadership :) 。。。more

Not my favorite leadership read, it was a little too religious for me。

Great book on the importance of leadership and simple areas you can consider and work on improving to become a good leader。 Definitely something to gloss over the next few years to continue to improve soft skills。

Maxwell’s endorsement on servant leadership and his biblical influence are quite obvious in most of his writings - this book is no exception。 “True leadership cannot be awarded, appointed, or assigned。 It comes only from influence, and that cannot be mandated。 It must be earned。” It’s a good way of putting what leadership is about。 For many motivational speakers, leadership has become a pet topic。 They use fascinating words to describe leadership in ways a common audience can go impressed。 Wheth Maxwell’s endorsement on servant leadership and his biblical influence are quite obvious in most of his writings - this book is no exception。 “True leadership cannot be awarded, appointed, or assigned。 It comes only from influence, and that cannot be mandated。 It must be earned。” It’s a good way of putting what leadership is about。 For many motivational speakers, leadership has become a pet topic。 They use fascinating words to describe leadership in ways a common audience can go impressed。 Whether the speakers own proper experience is a question。 In fact, leadership is not about how well you describe it。Without refuting the 21 laws, we can say the book didn't refer much from different organizations including business and the equivalents。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 My dad gave me this book long time ago when I was about 19-20yrs old (and still had a chance at life。。。lol) He told me that “it was, surprisingly, a very good read。。。” and that it, “it really helped him on becoming the man he is/was today。。。 was very inspiring!” (FYI- Ive never, ever seen a book, much less a newspaper, nor magazine。。。 in my dad’s hands before!) 🤨🤔 🤣LMAO!😂

Great overview of qualities of a good leader。 Granted it's very hard to do all of them right, but the book gives great stories and helps me remember my own, where I've felt specific laws working either for or against me。 The book accomplishes 2 things: showing that leadership is way more important than commonly known, yet due to that it's also a long process and shows steps how to get there year after year。 This is great for a beginner to understand what leadership is and great for a leader, who Great overview of qualities of a good leader。 Granted it's very hard to do all of them right, but the book gives great stories and helps me remember my own, where I've felt specific laws working either for or against me。 The book accomplishes 2 things: showing that leadership is way more important than commonly known, yet due to that it's also a long process and shows steps how to get there year after year。 This is great for a beginner to understand what leadership is and great for a leader, who's already leading, for a year or maybe 10 years - these are still valid。 。。。more

⭐️⭐️⭐️ ½ True to form, digestible tips on leadership。 At the end of the day, a good reminder that being a leader takes work and continuous improvement。

I bought the book about halfway through this audiobook。 John Maxwell is brilliant。 I loved listening to him read this book - though after receiving the book in the mail, I realized he leaves out a lot from the text in his audio version。 The 21 laws are so insightful。 Everyone who strives to be a better leader should have this book on their shelves。 John gives many powerful examples of strong leaders and how their lives were lived by these laws。 I'll be reading the hardcover copy very soon。 I hig I bought the book about halfway through this audiobook。 John Maxwell is brilliant。 I loved listening to him read this book - though after receiving the book in the mail, I realized he leaves out a lot from the text in his audio version。 The 21 laws are so insightful。 Everyone who strives to be a better leader should have this book on their shelves。 John gives many powerful examples of strong leaders and how their lives were lived by these laws。 I'll be reading the hardcover copy very soon。 I highly recommend reading this book!

I really enjoyed reading this book- it is full on wonderful stories of great leaders! So now you’re thinking, well then why did you only give it 3 stars? Well, you see, as much as I liked it, I don’t claim it as a must read because he mainly just goes through his 21 laws, which you could simple read the list of rather than read the whole book。

Valuable insights, a richness of experience and relatable stories。 I liked the micro biographies on some key leaders like mother Teresa, Condoleezza Rice, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, mahatma Gandhi amongst others。 The exercises are useful and make it practical。 I found the names of some of the laws not very memorable。 Overall, a book all leaders, experienced, Novice and aspiring leaders should read at least once and reference when needed。

Forrest

A well written book。 Enjoyed reading it。
